The name Flamingos, which is used to describe those birds whose photos you are about to see, probably comes from the Latin word 'flamma' which means 'flame, fire'. And indeed, if you look closely those birds, you will see that pretty much of everything on them reminds on flames and fire. Starting from their eyes, which are orange to their feathers which are flaming-red in color. Even their beak is in some kind of flame-color. The reason why they got the name Flamingos is pretty obvious now, and if you are still not convinced in this theory by watching particular specimens, then, you should be convinced once you see the whole flock of them glittering in the colors of the flame.
